Princes and Princesses

Princes and Prinsesses?
You have them in all shapes and sizes.
Real princes and princesses
Royal by Blood

For now
They do not count

This is about the Princesses
from fairy tales
and their Princes on white horses

Their wonderful lifes
in their beautifull castles
Surrounded by
the pink scent of roses and silver moonlight
jewelry, diamonds, chocolate, sweets,
candy, cream, sky cots, crowns, slippers,
velvet, golden balls...

Oh yes…
the Prinsess and the Frog
Know the story?
Sometimes you meet
a princess like her

She lives in a dream world
surrounding herself with only good things.
and putting herself in the center of this
very cool & beautiful
& shiny universe
Everything is about
Enjoying the moment
Especially enjoying
Egoism versus altruism

I do not like this princess very much
(if very thick on top
very obvious
I have no such difficulty

with her
but the princess so pretty
that wants to appear humble and innocent
but actually is not

Still very subtle
It is her
I find not so nice

like the wolf in sheep's clothing )

I prefer
Snow White and Cinderella
They seem a bit more
like real people
a bit more human

and there is
Nothing wrong with
Illusions
But often
the dream is better
 than reality

To be human
Be Yourself
Is more
Important

To live a real life
make choices
Have responsibilities
you're on top
and sometimes
you go through
very deep valleys
valleys filled
with tears
Adored and rejected

Not always surrounded
by the pink scent of roses
and moonlight

Taking care and caring for
yourself and one another
forgive and be forgiven
appreciate the little things
Not be Complacent
Give and take
For
What goes around comes around
And my favorite prince?
no doubt
Le Petit Prince
of Antoine de Saint-Exupéry
and his Rose

Old-worlded eyes

 Poppenoogjes

Scary
is what they can be
Eyes of dolls
Especially those of clowns
They give me
cold chills

When I was young
I had a doll
in my bedroom
A very big doll
It was a majorette
Or a Scottish lady
playing the Bagpipe
I do not remember
   But still her eyes
Azure blue
With real lashes
and blinking eyelids

Oh .. I was so afraid of her
Dared not to look
  alone in my bed
Could not go to sleep

Eventually
I pressed both eyes
My mother was not so happy
A doll with eyes
in her belly.

Edda & Wimmie, a vintage children's book

A vintage children's book from the 70's.
I love the artwork on the cover of these books
Would like to collect them.
But the nest is almost bursting out.
Letting go of material things is something
I cannot do so well.
It is a collector anger passing from
generation to generation.
A gene or parenting issue.
Nature or nurture.
Somewhere there is a
gray area.
If you end up here
The end is missing.
Out of Control.

Velours de Frise

My favorite wild flowers,
Bûterblomkes
Boterbloemen
Buttercups
Goldilocks

Already in bloom.

Simultaneously
with another favorite,
the austere
but
movingly pretty
and
almost mystical
Pinksterbloem,
Cuckooflower.

On my steel horse
we cross
the Frisian land,
the green fields.

Velours de Frise.

Spring & Summer
around us.
This is true enjoyment!

(And therefore absolutely no need to blog)

Vrolijk Pasen!

Ancient light

Wandering along ancient paths
I meet people
Who are
no longer here
But always
in my memories
Sometimes they are
gone for good
Or just
somewhere else

If you are
just
somewhere else
I hope
you are
okay

For those
who are gone
for good
There is
a place in my heart
Some days a sad place
Heartache
Often a warm & safe place

Sweet musings
A smile, a face, a gesture
A love

Times evaporate
Memories remain
Sometimes not forever

This love will...

Seeds of Love

Sometimes something beautiful
grows suddenly
In places you would not expect it
Maybe you've sown it
yourself
But you were not aware
To discover such a thing always makes me

very happy
Last week I received a beautiful book
From somebody

who knew I would appreciate it
I hardly knew her and she owed me nothing
Just a very generous gesture
Makes SO happy
Thank you!

Fait Main, JEMA Holland

French chandelier & Chinese lanterns

The remains of a birthday,
a 5th anniversary, almost 7 weeks ago.
5 Years ago an almost 7 weeks old child
in a basket, a little nest,
outside, on the street.
Torn, heart-rending grief
but with the hope of luck.
All the luck in the world.

Dotje!

Dreaming my Dreams...

This is about the romanticus in me.
The one that dreams
of looking like the lady on my profile photo.
The one that has a really cute pink mobile phone
but is hardly using it.

Why?

I have a permanent connection
and I am looking for an nice green vintage rotation device
(Google do you translate this properly, rotary phone?!..).

I do not want to be
get-at-able
all the time.

I do have voicemail
so if you want to I will call you back.

In my homeland
we talk about cows and calves,
that means smalltalk.
I think that it can be very nice
but not through the mobile.
I prefer writing,
handwritten letters
and postcards
and kattebelletjes,
catbells
alias
memo's.

I do not like to hyve,
do have a facebook account
but are not yet using it.
For some reason I do like to blog.

Why?

For myself,
to make thoughts and ideas visable
and to save them for later days,
to make my own collection,
it is easier
(not better, o no!)
then putting them on paper,
making them with my hands.

I can create my own world in this blog
if I want to,
sometimes I have
a penchant for elsewhere,
wherever
that may be.

Often nostalgic for the past,
perhaps
a bit traditional
or just too slow,
too dreamy
to go into the flow
of progress.

Things that make me happy, Swansong.

Swansong.
The last poem of a poet,
before his death.
The name is a reference
to the myth
that a swan,
when she feels
her death coming,
once
bursts into
a wonderful song.

This myth is found
in the Phaedo of Plato.
Socrates
says here
on the eve of his execution
that swans
before they die
sing better
than ever,
not from sadness
but out of joy
over the benefits
of Apollo
which will await them
after death.

April First

My 5 year old
is having her day!
April first!
The whole day long
I have to hear that
there is a frog
on my head,
my nose is missing,
even my head
has
fallen
off.

Tried to learn her some
good jokes
but
in the world of a 5 year old
these are
good jokes!
So I laugh with her
and tell her that
there's a bunny in her shoe
and
then we both
roll over the ground
laughing
giggles.
